Course Description
The Introduction to CMMI® course introduces participants to the CMM-Integration and its fundamental concepts. The course discussion emphasizes understanding of maturity and capability levels and the grouping of process areas (PAs). The course is based on version 1.3 of the CMMI released in 2011. This three-day course describes a framework that organizations can use to determine their ability to develop and maintain systems; it is a model for organizational improvement. The course is composed of lectures and class exercises with ample opportunity for participant questions and discussions. The Introduction to CMMI workshop helps prepare appraisal participants to make valid judgments regarding an organization's implementation of the process areas. The course is helpful in identifying issues to be addressed in performing process improvement as structured by the CMMI v1.2 model.
Participants must attend all three days of training and be present for the entirety of the class to receive the Introduction to CMMI v 1.3 certificate from the Software Engineering Institute (CMMI Institute).
